Experiment
So we're running a little experiment in the Shabibi household. Shawn and I were at the grocery store a few weeks ago when we saw a display of tulip bulbs in a glass vase with water. Basically a set up to push the bulbs indoors. We were like, of course! We had some tulip and daffodil bulbs that we never got around to planting last fall.
These are the tulips. This is how far they've progressed in less than a week! Shawn set up these pots with rocks, put water in it and then laid the bulbs on top. You don't want the bulb actually sitting in water but close enough that roots can reach down.
We're psyched to see what happens with this. More to come ...

Hipstamatic!
Hipstamatic! I love this app. Way back when, while I was waiting for Apple to sell the iPhone through Verizon, I came across the Hipstamatic app. Along with waiting to get the phone, I've been waiting to get this app. I don't know what it is about these photos that I love. I'm not really a vintage type of person. But maybe deep down inside I am.
I recently had the opportunity to browse around some thrift stores. Can't think of a better place where this app could be used.

A Little Walk Around Occoquan
A week or so ago I took a walk around Occoquan to try and get some shots other than the cats. Sometimes Occoquan seems so cool. Small, quaint little town with a yoga studio, bead shop and a magick shop. But then other times it seems so lame, like it's got so much potential to be a really hip place. And it's all of like 3 square blocks so I don't think I've missed much. And the last shot of the chickens and roosters ... I can't stand that country quaint look and Occoquan has a lot of that!

New Beds
Two of the three cats love to lounge in their little beds. For awhile we only had one. It's Tiki's safe spot, almost like, when she's in that bed, the other cats can't bother her. But Lenny Boy would eyeball that bed and the minute Tiki would get out of it, he was in it. Then Tiki would be open prey with no safe spot. Or she would sit next to the bed looking very sad while Lenny Boy was relaxing in it. So it was time to get more beds so everyone can have a bed whenever they want.
Here's the handsome fella lounging in the new bed.

First iPhone Photos
My first photos with the iPhone! I finally got an iPhone because Apple finally opened it up to Verizon. As an Apple girl, I've been waiting for a long time for this.
I've needed a new phone for about two years but held off and here is an example of how just being patient will pay off.
I've barely had a chance to play with it, although, I delete a bunch of emails by mistake not realizing that deleting them from the phone would delete them off the server. Gotta fix that. And as soon as I find my internet password I'll be visiting the app store. So there will be more engaging photos to come off of this thing. But you gotta start somewhere so why not with the cats.

Just Say Ahhhhh
Recently I had the opportunity to do a shoot for a fellow yoga teacher who is also a Pranassage and Thai Massage practitioner. Of the photos that follow I don't remember which ones are which but does it matter, because they all look like they just feel good.
This particular shoot was a trade. She got photos, I'll get a Pranassage/Thai Massage session. To say that I can't wait is an understatement. I can't wait to just say ahhhhhh.
If the photos are enticing you as they should be:), book a session at www.be-sati.com.

Glazed
Back in January we had an ice storm that lead to a nice two hour delay to work:) There were a couple of small snowstorms too but the whole winter weather thing is not doing it for me this year. I haven't been embracing it at all and am ready for it to be done. February brings some hope. There's a little more light and today it actually broke 50 degrees. But the ice storm did offer some nice shots.

Excuses, Excuses
Well, jees, it's been a while. And I have no excuses. I do have reasons that I wasn't here for more than the first few days of January. One of the reasons is that January just kind of sucked. The gray, gloom and bitter, cold left me uninspired. Another reason is that I've been trying to get my groove back with working out. Hubby was sick for nearly a week with a very bad uti which brought up a lot of shit from a year ago. And work and side projects have kept me pretty damn busy. And then when I get home in the evening, 3 creatures are clamoring for my attention and make it hard to get on the computer. They're highly skilled at giving me a guilt trip.
I did take a few photos in January and actually finished up some cool ones from December that I'll share now to catch up. And then it's time to get back to business. I love this space and I hate that I neglect it. This space is my space for creativity and to not nurture that sucks. So starting now, February 1, it's time to change that. New month, new year (again:), new moon.
So first some photos of the fella. I love playing with the wide angle lens and the cats. It makes them look so goofy.
How's that for a look? Just moments before I took this photo he was being all cute and cuddly. Guess I ruined that. So I came back a little later to catch the cuteness.
Now there's my love dove.
And then sometime in January I got this photo of the Lucy and Lenny chilling in the living room. Not sure if you can see Lucy's cross eyed look.
More to come...
