Shades of Brown and Gray

Shades of brown and gray. Everywhere. This is how winter looks in the mid-Atlantic. I suppose it looks like this elsewhere too. Brown, gray, blah. Everything is dead and crumbling. Today, though, while everything is brown and gray, at least it wasn't cold. Just a little chilly. And that chill actually felt balmy compared to the 30 degrees, feels like 10 degrees with the wind chill, we had for a month.

There's something about the dead plants though, that I really like. I don't like that they're dead but the shapes and texture are cool. So with these photos I was trying to find the beautiful in the blah.

there's a little pink and red in there ... memories past and a sign of what's to come. :-)
